ABOUT US

With over 250 members, the UChicago Space Program is a registered student organization (RSO) with the mission to develop a robust talent pipeline for the aerospace industry. The program emphasizes the design, construction, and deployment of satellite and rocketry technology in partnership with corporate, academic, and government entities. UCSP is committed to fostering a dynamic learning environment, providing students with hands-on experience in all aspects of spaceflight hardware—ranging from conceptualization and design to manufacturing, testing, and, in the future, operation.

Students gain invaluable technical expertise through the mastery of industry-standard tools and methodologies, significantly enhancing their skill set and professional intuition. Furthermore, UCSP’s projects emphasize professional development, offering numerous opportunities that link students to rewarding careers in the space sector.

Established in 2020, we have become one of the fastest growing RSOs on campus, spanning a diverse range of years and majors.
